Tanay, Rizal is situated in the Philippines, directly east of Manila, about 57 kilometers away. Tanay was founded in 1606, a town of 85,000 is considered as the central trading post of Morong, Pililla, Baras, Jala-jala, Mabitac, Siniloan and Sta. Cruz in Laguna.

It is home to a number of natural attractions including the Kalinawan Cave, Daranak and Batlag Falls, Tinipak and its white marble deposits alongside its riverbank, Daong, Sierra Madre Mountain, crystal clear water of Daraitan river with colorful stones beneath the surface and gold mining in sitio Angilo that lie concealed behind the 12 hours of perilous journey on foot from Barangay Sta. Ines.

It is a town with a tremendous contrasts: natural spring water, numerous caverns, superstitions, urban and rural barangays, entertainment and a number of resorts including Pranjeto Hills, Sierra Madre Resorts, Sacramento Valley Resorts and Don Pedro Hotel and Resort, and every January with an explosion of Town Fiesta decorations, singing contests, extravagant marching bands, Fairs and thousands of vendors scatters around the town.

Tanayans are friendly, greagarious, accommodating, hospitable and helpful. In addition to that, transport is cheap, the food is plentiful and good, accommodation is fair and English is widely spoken. The wet season runs from May to October and the dry season from November to April. The half year of sunshine and tropical climate make this town well suited to the occasional vacationer.
